Tuttosport: Milan and Juventus battling for Retegui – the latest discussions held with his camp

AC Milan are reportedly set to make a move for Mateo Retegui in the summer, and it appears that they will not be alone in their attempt.

It is clear that Milan want to sign an elite striker in the summer, and Retegui, as the reigning Capocanonniere would be a perfect fit, especially considering he still has room for growth, as well as helping with registration rules.

However, that profile would tempt a number of clubs, so the Rossoneri will not have a clear shot at the former Atalanta man.

A popular man

As Tuttosport writes, via MilanNews, contact has already begun between the striker’s father and the Diavolo, to establish the interest and gain an initial understanding of the situation. However, he has also recently had discussions with Juventus about his son’s future.

Indeed, the suggestions are that he has spoken directly with Marco Ottolini, the Bianconeri’s sporting director. So, this creates a potential issue to overcome.

It is also worth noting that a deal for the Italian may not be straightforward regardless of Juventus’ involvement. Al Qadisiya have no interest in loaning him out, nor do they want to sell him for cheap, then his high wages must also be considered.

In other words, it will not be a straightforward signing.
