The Irons forward has been in good form recently and has scored eight league goal’s this season as the Hammers battle against relegation from the Premier League.
Although Santo is pleased for Bowen, he has made it clear the club comes first and international football comes second.
Speaking at his weekly press conference Santo said: “I am very happy for Jarrod Bowen. I think it is deserved. I think for West Ham it is good and positive. It always a major goal for the player to make it to the international team. The priority is the tea and the club. After that the player can do anything.”
Santo also stated the clubs recent good form is down to the fans and the atmosphere they have created on match days.
He added: “The fans are being helpful. The atmosphere has improved at home. Then it is up to us to give the fans something back.”
Santo also said he has not taken notice of Aston Villla’s decline in the League and still think’s they are a good team.
He said: “I don’t see Villa struggling. Is still see a very good team. I saw them play the other day in the Europa League. Unai Emery is a very experience and good manager. I will be a tough game to play.
“We have reached the final moments of the season. This is the most important part of the season. It is not divisive but important.
West Ham are winless in their last six Premier League games against Aston Villa, alternating between a draw (3) and defeat (3) each time.
Aston Villa are looking to complete the league double over West Ham for the first time since 2010-11, the last time the Hammers were relegated from the top-flight.
Though they’re unbeaten in six Premier League games overall against West Ham, Aston Villa have won just one of their last seven against them at Villa Park (D3 L3)
