Harry Maguire received a straight red card for the Cherries' second goal – having pulled back Evanilson in the box, which was deemed to be a denial of a goalscoring opportunity – but it was the first goal that caused the most controversy, as Christie scored on the end of a counterattack that began after Amad appeared to be pushed over by Adrien Truffert in the box.

The referee waved away the claims, however, with his decision supported by VAR.
