Brentford have been boosted by the return to training of Mikkel Damsgaard ahead of the trip to Elland Road.

The Bees take on Leeds United on Saturday evening looking for an impressive seventh win in 16 away games and knowing that if Chelsea lose to Everton that would put them level on points in seventh place.

Damsgaard’s presence will aid that cause and he could well start despite picking up a knock in their 2-2 draw with Wolves on Monday.

Head coach Keith Andrews said: “Dams was on the grass today, which is obviously positive. We’ll give him every chance to see how he is for tomorrow.”

However, the visitors will be without full-backs Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey who are both out with hamstring injuries. Vitaly Janelt (metatarsal) and Josh Dasilva (knee) also remain sidelined.

Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo are out for the rest of the season.

Andrews was upbeat about his team’s prospects. “The group are in a good place. There’ll be a quiet, calm confidence about how we approach the game.

“I think it’ll be all-action. The way the two teams play, it’ll be intense. It’ll be a physical game, for sure, and there are some really talented players in both teams.

“Leeds are well coached – Daniel (Farke) has done a great job there – and they’re a very effective team.”
