Why Albion striker was taken off at half-time after first WSL goal

But the Albion boss hopes she learns from the experience - and is boosted by her strike.

Camacho saw an effort from outside the box flick off a defender and find the bottom corner to equalise at leaders Chelsea.

Albion trailed 2-1 at half-time, which proved to be the final score, and Camacho was replaced ahead of the second period.

Vidosic said: “There were a lot of issues that were being caused in the press, so that was why we opted to make the change at half-time.

“She’s a young player who is learning, so a little bit got lost on the defensive side and I think that contributed a lot to Chelsea having a lot of success.

“When we brought Bex (Rayner) on, she managed that a lot better and then that helped us then wrestle back the control.

“But she (Camacho) played a lot. She came to us only having played, I think it was, like 300 minutes of professional football, mostly from the bench at Real Madrid recovering from an ACL.

“So to expect her to now to step on the pitch and be an elite top level striker, I think that would be very unfair as well to try to expect that straight away.

“But there's responsibilities for everyone with and without the ball.”

Albion lost England striker Michelle Agyemang to a serious knee injury and top scorer Kiko Seike is currently at the Asian Cup.

Camacho took the striker’s role on Wednesday and was rewarded for trying her luck from a few yards outside the box.

Vidosic said: “A little bit of fortune, but you need to make your own luck at times, especially to shoot.

“She took a great first touch inside and then a great goal for us to equalise.”

Seike remains absent along with defenders Moeka Minami and Charlie Rule as Albion take on Liverpool at the Broadfield Stadium on Sunday.
