Michael Carrick has now responded to speculation that Manchester United are locked in talks with Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire over new deals at Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire is in the final six months of his current Manchester United contract and would become a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
The 33-year-old former Man Utd captain was free to speak with clubs in January and could have signed a pre-contract agreement with teams outside of England.
Kobbie Mainoo, on the other hand, is under contract with United until 2027 and the Red Devils are keen to secure the long-term future of the Stockport-born midfielder.

Sky Sports reported that the ongoing contract talks with England internationals Mainoo and Maguire are ‘expected to be announced next month’ by Man Utd.
Mainoo is reportedly earning £25,000 per week on his current Man Utd deal and the 20-year-old Red Devils talent is expected to receive a hefty bump in his salary.
