According to the Daily Mail, officials at United believe they were the wrong side of an incorrect decision last night, as Amad Diallo went down under a challenge from Adrien Truffert.

At that stage, the visitors to Dean Court were 1-0 up, thanks to a Bruno Fernandes spot kick.

Referee Stuart Attwell was well placed and waved away United appeals for a penalty, and the Cherries went up the other end to equalise through an excellent Ryan Christie finish.

Maguire was sent off for denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity, and Junior Kroupi converted from the spot to make it 2-2, which ended up being the final result under the lights.

The Mail reports that United officials believe that the foul committed by Maguire was similar to the one from Truffert, and, having already made representations to PGMO’s Webb, director of football Jason Wilcox will raise the issue with Webb today.

United are also expected to query where nine added minutes came from last night at the end of the 90 minutes, according to the Mail.

Andoni Iraola said that he felt all the penalty decisions were correct.

The Cherries boss highlighted another penalty shout for the Cherries, when Evanilson went down in the first half after contact from Maguire at 0-0, that was also waved away.

He said that incident should have been looked at, but he thinks that challenge and the one on Amad from Truffert did not have enough contact to see a penalty awarded.

Iraola said both calls for the penalties that were given were correct.

Michael Carrick, though, said he was ‘baffled and astonished’ by the decisions from referee Attwell, saying that the challenges on Matheus Cunha for the first penalty and the one on Amad were “almost identical”.
