Scott will use England snub as fuel to perform for Cherries ahead of World Cup

He was awarded man of the match on the night, the Cherries midfielder standing out, particularly up against United’s Kobbie Mainoo, who was called up by Tuchel.

Asked about his performance in the context of missing out on the England squad, Scott told Sky Sports: “It's definitely fuel.

“Obviously disappointed, everyone wants to play for their country, but in England there's so many top players.

“I think you see Kobbie was playing today, there's unreal players in the midfield spot, so it's tough to get into that squad.

“So for me now, it's head down, keep focusing, keep performing, and yeah, hopefully I put myself in the best position possible for the summer.”
