Leeds United are yet to end the season but there are a lot of things the club has to resolve when the summer comes around. The 49ers will be hoping the team does enough to secure another season in the top flight.
The Whites are currently just three points above the relegation zone with eight games to go, and could secure their safety in the coming weeks. Last summer, Leeds made a lot of important squad decisions before the season began.

Leeds United loanee eyes potential summer exit
The Mateo Joseph’s saga this past summer was a complicated one; he wanted guarantees of more playing time, but the club could not agree on that. He made it clear before pre-season, and was expected to report to camp, but he shocked everyone by asking for a transfer. Leeds United eventually struck a season-long loan with Mallorca, sending the young forward there.
Joseph has had a largely average season with a few flashes here and there. He has not been as productive as he was last season in the Championship. The 22-year old has now hinted that he wants a future at Mallorca beyond this season.
“I’d like to continue being happy here. When you’re happy somewhere, why change? It doesn’t depend much on me because I have a contract with another club. We’ll see what the future holds for me,” he said in an interview with Fibwi Radio’s La Zona 10.
“I’m grateful to the coaches I’ve had, also to my teammates, who from day one has made me feel like one of them, and to the sporting director, who has always shown confidence in me.”

Mateo Joseph’s time is up at Elland Road
With how he left Leeds United in the summer, there is a huge chance that the forward does not return to the club. Mateo Joseph made it clear that he was keen on getting first team football elsewhere, and it is clear that his time at Mallorca has provided that. Outside that, he looks to have no future under Daniel Farke. The Leeds boss clearly stated the youngster was not in his plans, after Joseph refused to report for pre-season. And looking at the current forward options in the team, he would not be near first choice. Leeds need to find a way to make a profit off him if they want this whole saga to end on a positive note.
