Marouane Fellaini and Tim Cahill were fantastic servants to Everton.
Making 111 appearances together for the Toffees, the pair combined for three goals and helped Everton record 1.59 points per game from those matches. The Belgian made a habit of causing havoc with his physicality, whereas the Australian often pounced on the space his teammate created to score – netting 68 goals in 278 appearances for Everton.
Now, David Moyes could replicate this dynamic for Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer as the Glaswegian targets Tomas Soucek and Pavel Sulc.
Everton being linked to Soucek again… thoughts? 💭
West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek.
Why Tomas Soucek and Pavel Sulc can emulate Marouane Fellaini and Tim Cahill at Everton
Across the 111 games Fellaini and Cahill played together, the latter would often start in an attacking midfield position, with the Belgian typically playing a little deeper in central midfield.
Cahill was the craftier, more attack-minded player as Fellaini set about disrupting the opposition and making life difficult for them with his aerial prowess from set-pieces.
They displayed similar traits to how Soucek and Sulc operate.

In their 16 games together for the Czech Republic national team, they have lost just four times, with the West Ham No.28 starting deeper while the Lyon No.10 plays just behind the striker.
It was talkSPORT who said Moyes is keeping an eye on Soucek – who he signed at West Ham – whereas Sportsboom claimed the Everton boss has made signing Sulc a priority this summer.
Even Jose Mourinho felt Moyes had found a new Fellaini in Soucek while at West Ham, with the Czech Republic international able to boast a fine goalscoring record from midfield with 46 goals in 275 appearances for the Hammers.
With regard to Sulc, the Lyon star can boast 14 goals and ten assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season, proving to be a more regular attacking threat, whereas Soucek picks his moments and typically shines from dead ball situations as Fellaini often would.

There is a clear over-reliance on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye to deliver the goods without a reliable striker at Everton right now, but if Soucek and Sulc are added to the mix, the Toffees could be a real handful to deal with next term.
