Bianconere held at Genoa

The Juventus Women’s First Team were held to a goalless draw away at Genoa on Serie A Women Matchday 17.

Things were cagey to begin with as the hosts stood firm at the back, making life hard for the BIanconere to find a way through. The first attempt at knocking on the door saw Tatiana Pinto try to put Chiara Beccari through, but the Rossoblu backline wasn’t willing to open.

At the other end, Birta Georgsdottir was the biggest threat for the hosts and had the first real opening, but fired wide of Larissa Rusek’s goal when in space on the edge of the box. The Icelandic forward was again at the centre of things when she teed up Alma Hilaj shortly after, but the Albanian dragged her effort wide.

At the beginning of the second half, Genoa had two decent chances that caused Rusek to be alert, first through Vigilucci and then through Hilaj.

Late on, Cambiaghi found Tatiana Pinto nicely, but the Portuguese couldn’t direct her effort on goal. In stoppage time, Vangsgaard sent a shot over the crossbar, and the game ended without the net being found.
