Manchester United are pushing to return to the Champions League next season, and know they must find a way to improve their attacking output if they are going to get there and stay there.
The Red Devils currently sit third in the Premier League table following the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, which leaves them seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea before they clash with Everton, with just seven games remaining in the season.
Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and even Benjamin Sesko have all chipped in with their fair share of goals this season to help propel the team up the table, but one star has really struggled with his output despite playing on a regular basis, and he must find a way to improve that or face being left behind by whoever the new manager may be.
Amad is Important But Not Undroppable
Manchester United's Amad Diallo during the warm up
Since Michael Carrick has come into the club, his starting lineup has seen minimal changes. Mbeumo has started as the number nine more often than not, with Cunha on the left, Fernandes in the 10, and Amad Diallo starting in his preferred right-wing position.
The Ivorian was regularly fielded as a wing-back under Ruben Amorim, but regularly was one of the team's better performers, which earned him a new contract at Old Trafford and has seen him emerge as a fan favourite.
His performances have generally been good too. He keeps possession well, defends well, takes on his opposition full-back regularly, and creates chances for his teammates. However, one facet of his game that has struggled is output, with just two goals and two assists in all competitions.
That's not to say that he hasn't had a positive effect on games. He should have won a penalty against Bournemouth on Friday night and against Brighton back in December, only for baffling referee decisions to not see them awarded.
But if he wants to continue playing regularly and from the start for Manchester United, then Amad must improve his goal and assists tally or face the risk of being left behind by whoever comes in as the new manager this summer.
Goals and Assists Win Games

While being technically tidy and a willing runner is always important to winning games, attacking players need goals and assists.
With the club being heavily linked with a move to bring in a new attacking option to compete on the wings, it immediately puts his place in the team under threat if he isn't delivering.
Amad is a super-talented player, who has been described as 'unbelievable', and is very important to the Man Utd side right now. But whoever the new manager is will want his attackers providing match-winning moments, and unless Amad changes that part of his game, then his place beyond this season may be under threat.
