What Everton announced to the crowd about Jordan Pickford directly after 3-0 win vs Chelsea

Everton were all over Chelsea on Saturday evening as a brace from Beto and a stunner from Iliman Ndiaye secured a 3-0 win, but Jordan Pickford was still needed on several occasions.

Liam Rosenior – who praised David Moyes before the game – saw his side record four shots on target, but the Everton No.1 was once again in electric form as he made a couple of unbelievable stops.

As Jordan Pickford and his teammates soaked up the adoration from fans, an announcement was made inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium to reveal this was actually his 100th clean sheet for the Toffees.

Everton fans, is that the best Toffees performance of the season?! Let us know your thoughts on that stunning victory…

Jordan Pickford reaches Everton landmark in style

As a result of keeping Chelsea at bay, the 32-year-old has now reached a century of shutouts for Everton in 351 appearances following a £30m move from Sunderland in June 2017.

The Sunderland academy graduate has conceded 482 goals in those 351 appearances, for anybody wondering.

Pickford is now just 20 clean sheets away from Ted Sagar – but has some way to go until he matches the 269 kept by Neville Southall during his time at Everton.

Neville Southall – 269

Gordon West – 155

Tim Howard – 133

Ted Sagar – 120

Jordan Pickford – 100

Joe Cole feels Pickford could play almost 700 games before he retires, however, so it is possible if the Everton glovesman lives up to that prediction.

As Moyes celebrated in front of Everton supporters along with his players after the famous victory, the announcement about this achievement over the tannoy would have made life feel even sweeter for Pickford.

Everton admittedly took a gamble when spending such a large fee on a 23-year-old back in June 2017, but the deal has paid off handsomely.

Everton fans, who was your standout performer in the 3-0 win over Chelsea?

So many unbelievable Toffees performers at HDS!

There was a genuine chance that Everton would have suffered relegation without Pickford in between the sticks over the last five years, and if anybody deserves to be playing European football for the Toffees next season, it is the man from Washington.
