Iliman Ndiaye had a firm message for football fans watching around the world, after he starred in Everton’s win over Chelsea.

The Toffees ran out 3-0 winners against the Blues, and were superb to a man.

Beto grabbed a brace, while Iliman Ndiaye also got on the scoresheet with a fabulous finish.

The win moves Everton up to seventh in the table and just two points behind Chelsea.

Ndiaye is having another fine season for Everton, and tonight he played with real fire in his belly.

It was as though he was being spurred on by something – and that something may well have been the unprecedented AFCON development earlier this weekend.

Earlier this week, there was huge news in the football world as Senegal were stripped of their AFCON title by CAF.

This came after Senegal players briefly left the field of play, before returning and going on to win.

Morocco were declared the winners, in a controversial and unprecedented decision.

Of course, it has meant that Everton duo Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye can no longer call themselves 2026 AFCON winners.

But after Everton’s win over Chelsea, Ndiaye was being followed by the Sky camera, and took the opportunity to say three words that many will have loved.

He said simply ‘Champions of Africa’.

The Senegalese Football Federation has said it will appeal against the verdict. They described the decision as a ‘travesty’.

The appeal is set to be lodged with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and the process could take another six months to conclude.
