Huge coup: Man Utd could see their bid accepted for 'one of the best players in the world'…

Manchester United could have their bid accepted for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies if they step up their interest in the coming months.

Man United look set for a big summer in the transfer market, with talk already ramping up about the midfield additions they could make for their next permanent manager.

The Red Devils are already looking to replace the outgoing Casemiro at the end of the season, with the club looking for two new midfielders to arrive at Old Trafford to boost an area that is lacking quality in depth.

United and caretaker manager Michael Carrick will be looking to secure Champions League football for the first time since 2023 in the closing weeks of the campaign, but they missed the opportunity to further strengthen third spot in the Premier League with a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Friday night.

Securing their place in Europe's elite club competition would no doubt boost their ability to attack the market in the summer, with GIVEMESPORT sources revealing that United could also look for a new striker, right-back and versatile left-sided player on top of the two central midfielders.

Man United Interested in Alphonso Davies

According to reliable journalist Christian Falk, Man United have maintained their long-term interest in Bayern's Davies as they look to strengthen their squad for the 2026-27 campaign.

Of course, Davies fits the profile of the versatile left-sided player that the Red Devils are seeking completely, as he can play anywhere from left-back to left-wing on that flank.

The Canada international is regarded as one of the fastest players in football, but his injury issues over the last 18 months could make him more available for transfer at Bayern.

As well as suffering an ACL injury, the 25-year-old has also suffered other smaller issues and illnesses which have seen his time on the pitch severely limited since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.

Those issues mean Bayern would consider offers for him, with Falk specifically saying there would be a discussion if a bid was on the table.

Davies Deal Would be Huge Coup Despite Big Negative

Bayern's Alphonso Davies

Despite the obvious injury issues, there is no doubting the quality that Davies has when he's fully fit and firing.

He torments right-sided players with his pace and directness with the ball, and he is used to winning after lifting 14 trophies in his seven years at the Allianz Arena.

United want to get back to winning trophies as soon as possible, and the Canadian feels like the sort of big character with a winning mentality who can help them do exactly that.

On signing a new five-year deal with Bayern last February, the club's sporting director Christoph Freund said that Davies has become 'one of the best players in the world in his position'.

It's hard to disagree after what we've seen from him on the pitch in recent years, but now he needs to get that consistent run of games again.

Should that happen, there is no doubt that it would be a huge coup for INEOS if they succeeded in bringing him to Old Trafford.
