Graham Smyth's Leeds United player ratings vs Brentford with 'tidy' 7/10 but mostly 6s and 5s

Leeds United pulled themselves another point closer to safety but rarely threatened to take all three during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Brentford. A game of little chances and poor attacking quality saw the spoils shared between Whites and Bees for a second time this season.

Defence won out during the opening 45 minutes with neither Leeds nor Brentford creating any serious chances. Dominic Calvert-Lewin beat Caoimhín Kelleher to a looping cross but it was cleared, while Igor Thiago scuffed a half-chance after causing Jaka Bijol some problems.

The second-half played out much in the same way, with both sides enjoying spells of momentum without ever creating a clear-cut chance. Farke brought on attacking reinforcements including Noah Okafor and Ao Tanaka but despite a late push, that opening goal never came.

YEP chief football writer Graham Smyth was at Elland Road to watch the action. Here are his Leeds United player ratings...

7 - Solid enough with the little he had to do. Kicking was good in moments and rushed and scrappy at other times.
