The date and time of Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace has been changed.
The match was originally slated to take place on Saturday, 11th April. However, it will now be played a day later on Sunday, 12th April, kicking off at 2pm and broadcast live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports.
Palace confirmed in a statement on Saturday that the change has been made due to their ongoing participation in the Uefa Conference League, where they beat AEK Larnaca 2-1 in Cyprus on Thursday following a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park in the first leg.
The Eagles will take on Italian giants Fiorentina in the quarter-finals, with the first leg in South London their next fixture on Thursday, 9th April. Oliver Glasner’s men were supposed to play Manchester City this weekend, but that game has been postponed due to the latter’s participation in the EFL Cup final against Arsenal on Sunday. Newcastle, of course, have the small matter of the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland on Sunday.
Palace’s next league match after Newcastle is at home to West Ham United on Monday, 20th April. However, the latter take on Leeds United in the FA Cup on Sunday, 5th April, and a win there for the Hammers would also see this fixture re-arranged.
What happened the last time Newcastle United played Crystal Palace?
It isn’t that long since the first meeting of Newcastle and Palace this season, with the two locking horns at St. James’ Park on 4th January in the Magpies’ first match of 2026.
Eddie Howe’s men ran out 2-0 winners that day thanks to goals in the 71st and 78th minutes from Bruno Guimaraes and Malick Thiaw, respectively. That means Newcastle are now unbeaten in their last three against Palace, winning the last two by a 7-0 combined scoreline.
However, Newcastle are winless in their last four visits to Selhurst Park, drawing twice and losing twice, while scoring just two goals during that time.
