Fewer touches than Darlow: Farke must axe Leeds flop who made just 7 passes vs Brentford -…

Leeds United took yet another stride towards securing Premier League survival last night, after securing a 0-0 draw with Brentford at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke's men certainly didn't produce their most impressive performance of the campaign, but the point and clean sheet will only bolster their chances of another year in the top-flight.

The Whites could only register four shots on target during the meeting in Yorkshire, with few of their efforts troubling opposition shot-stopper Caoimhín Kelleher.

However, the result does move Farke's men four points clear of the relegation places ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest and West Ham's respective games this afternoon.

Despite the recent point against Keith Andrews' men last night, the manager will no doubt be disappointed with the showings of multiple of his first-team members in Yorkshire.

Leeds' poor performers against Brentford last night

Striker Lukas Nmecha was named in the starting eleven alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin following his England call-up, but it certainly was a night to forget for the attacker.

The German featured for 69 minutes before being replaced by Farke, with his substitution warranted after failing to complete any of the dribbles he attempted.

He also won just 20% of the aerial battles he contested at Elland Road, along with just three touches in the 18-yard box - subsequently being unable to provide the threat needed in front of goal.

Nmecha wasn't the only Leeds player who failed to deliver during the draw against the Bees, with wing-back Jayden Bogle also struggling to make an impact after being recalled to the side.

The 25-year-old featured for the entirety of the contest, but was only able to make four passes into the final third and struggled to make any impression in the final third.

He also only managed to find a teammate with 33% of the crosses he attempted, with his struggles also being shown defensively - only winning 44% of his ground duels.

The Leeds star who needs to be axed after Brentford

As previously mentioned, the meeting between Leeds and Brentford at Elland Road wasn’t a classic, but it pulls Farke’s men even further away from the drop zone.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke

With just seven games to go this term, the German will want to ensure that all his players are up to standard if they are to remain in the top-flight beyond the end of May.

The performances of Nmecha and Bogle will certainly be a concern to the manager, with both players falling way below the standards they’ve set for themselves.

However, despite the aforementioned duo’s performances in Yorkshire, multiple other starters failed to deliver - including attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson.

The American, who struggled against Crystal Palace last weekend, was once again handed a start, but it was a decision that backfired given his lack of impact.

Aaronson

Just as he did at Selhurst Park, the 25-year-old featured behind Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha, but once again was unable to provide the pair with any chances in front of goal.

He also featured for just 69 minutes before being replaced, with his underlying stats highlighting the struggles he endured at Elland Road during the draw.

Aaronson could only complete 64% of his passes, subsequently losing possession on ten separate occasions - often being extremely wasteful when having the ball at his feet.

He was also only able to create one chance during his time on the pitch, along with a 50% dribble success rate - further highlighting his struggles in possession.

The 25-year-old was only able to complete a total of seven passes, along with just two touches of the ball in the opposition box - subsequently being unable to provide the needed impact.

He also registered just 30 touches of the ball throughout the draw, with goalkeeper Karl Darlow managing more - as seen with his tally of 50 touches.

After such a showing, Farke simply has to drop the attacking midfielder from his starting eleven, with such a display way below the levels expected of a Premier League midfielder.

He’s now been off the pace in each of the last few matches, with multiple other players in the squad deserving of a chance to thrive in the closing stages of the season.
