The pundit joined Alan Shearer in casting his verdict on Leeds United's draw against Brentford.
Wayne Rooney believes Leeds United and their fans were both ‘poor’ during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Brentford.
“It was a hard watch,” the former Manchester United striker told Match of the Day. “For the importance of the game and where Leeds are, I thought they and the fans were poor.
“I thought the [Leeds] fans never got behind them as Leeds fans can do. It was a bad game.”
There is no doubt Leeds would have targeted Saturday night as a winnable game and Daniel Farke admitted after full-time a draw won’t have him dancing on any tables. The importance of that point will become more clear at around 4pm today once all rivals have played.
Tottenham Hotspur host Nottingham Forest in a massive bottom-of-the-table clash while West Ham go to Aston Villa. Leeds will be four points clear of the relegation zone when those games kick off and cannot drop below 16th by full-time.

“If you can’t win the game, then don’t get beaten,” Shearer added. “It could be a massive point for Leeds. That puts them four clear of the drop zone.
“They’ve got Wolves and Burnley to play at home and I think another four points will be enough. Yes, they were lacking a little bit of quality but I also felt there was definite nervousness in there. They were edgy at times.

“They didn’t know whether to commit fully, to sit and try to protect what they had. It could be an important point.”
Leeds will watch this afternoon's action eagerly in the hope at least two of their three relegation rivals can drop points. Farke’s side then have a three-week break until they are next in Premier League action.
The March international break follows today’s football with a host of Leeds first-team regulars jetting off to represent their countries. The Whites return for an FA Cup quarter-final trip to West Ham Sunday, April 5.
