A veteran of the West Ham ‘Great Escape’ 2007 has been reflecting on the similarities that exist between the 2007 campaign and the predicament in which West Ham sit today, 19 years on.
Former West Ham player Hayden Mullins, one of a trio featured in an article in today’s ‘Athletic’ alongside Teddy Sheringham and Matt Etherington – stressed the importance of one of West Ham’s January signings who’s contribution has perhaps gone a little under the radar compared to Crysencio Sumemrville’s ‘showtime ‘and Dinos Mavropanos’ transformation into a defensive rock.
Mullins highlighted the industrious, hardworking efforts of their new number eleven as being pivotal to the club’s prospects, as reported by the NYTimes.com:
“The signing of Castellanos has helped massively with the club having a focal point up front. They didn’t really have that before he joined, so he’s brought energy to the team.
