Nearly two years on from Mason Greenwood's Manchester United exit, questions are being asked about the future of the forward. Greenwood is said to be privatelyconcerned about a clause inserted when he moved to Marseille, which could stand in the way of his next move.

The United academy graduate, 24, joined Marseille for £26.6million in the summer of 2024. He scored 22 goals in all competitions in his first season at Stade Velodrome and has already passed that total this term.

Marseille are by no means guaranteed Champions League qualification, while Roberto De Zerbi - the manager who brought Greenwood to France - has been replaced in the dugout by Habib Beye. Top scorer Greenwood is reportedly keen on a move to Juventus, but a sell-on clause in his move could complicate things.

HEREHERE.

United are entitled to a substantial chunk of any funds raised by a sale, reportedly somewhere between 40-50 per cent of the profits. This would mean, for example, that United would be entitled to up to £16.6m if Greenwood is sold for the £60m previously mooted (half of the £33.3m profit).

The ideal situation for United and Marseille would be for the club to drive up the asking price. This would net them a tidy sum for a player who is said to be keen on a move, while also helping United's bottom line.

Getafe are also believed to be entitled to around 20 per cent of United's take after negotiating terms when they loaned Greenwood during the 2023/24 season. They, too, will be keen for Marseille to bring in a hefty sum.

Greenwood is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 15 times before Marseille's Sunday match at home to Lille. Marseille can move eight points clear of Les Dogues with a victory, but defeat would throw the Champions League race wide open.

The forward also scored three times in eight Champions League matches this term, including a brace in a 3-2 victory away to Union SG. However, L'OM were eliminated on goal difference after heavy defeats in their last two league phase matches.

Juventus look to be in the market for attacking reinforcements due to Dusan Vlahovic's contract situation. The Serbian striker is expected to leave Turin at the end of the season when his current deal expires.

Lois Openda was signed as one of Vlahovic's potential long-term successors, joining on an initial loan from RB Leipzig, which will become permanent in the summer. However, Juve are reportedly already looking to offload the Belgian international, who has scored just one league goal all season, potentially freeing up space for Greenwood to join their attack.
