'Talks planned' - Crystal Palace make move to replace Oliver Glasner with Iraola alternative

Crystal Palace are ready to make a move to appoint Sean Dyche as their next manager once Oliver Glasner leaves Selhurst Park in the summer.

Glasner has publicly spoken out against the Eagles' owners on a number of occasions this season, namely after Eberechi Eze was sold at the end of the summer transfer window and when Marc Guehi left to join Manchester City in the January transfer window.

There were internal discussions at Selhurst Park earlier in the season about sacking the Austrian before the season was out, because of his comments, but the decision was made to stick with the manager, who will leave upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the season.

Palace Keen On Another Manager

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Glasner in the summer, as they look to appoint a permanent head coach to replace Ruben Amorim, with Michael Carrick only in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

But what happens in south London is up in the air too.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish and the Palace board are keen to have talks with former Burnley, Everton and Nottingham Forest boss Dyche about the soon-to-be vacant post, according to Alan Nixon.

Dyche is expected to meet with Palace officials in the coming days, as the Eagles make plans for the future. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who is also out of contract in the summer, is understood to be high on Palace's wishlist, but the south Londoners feel they could struggle to tempt the Spaniard to them with a number of other clubs like Tottenham interested in him.

According to Nixon, Dyche's 'talent in keeping clubs safe is attractive' to the Palace hierarchy.

Palace chairman Parish has been an admirer of Dyche for some time and he has a key ally at Selhurst Park in Eagles adviser Ian Moody who has worked with him before.

David Moyes Speaks Kindly About Sean Dyche

Speaking upon taking over from Dyche at Everton, David Moyes was glowing in his praise for his predecessor.

He said: "There will be lots of people able to tell you more about Everton over the last four or five years than myself, but, from afar, it looked as if he steered the ship - which was in big trouble, which was sinking - and he has done a great job making sure they were still in the Premier League.

"There were a couple of seasons he had to avoid it [relegation] on the last day of the season, but I think he has done a brilliant job in what the situation was."
