David Moyes is actually out of contract next summer.
When The Friedkin Group appointed David Moyes in January 2025, they only gave him a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Perhaps the American investors were half expecting to move him on once he settled the ship and stabilised the club.

But, Moyes has certainly outperformed everyone’s expectations, with Everton in the hunt for European football.
After the Toffees’ 3-0 win against Chelsea, the Scotsman was asked whether he wanted to extend his contract.

Moyes appeared to suggest that if Everton can qualify for Europe, he could have his contract extended by the Friedkins.
“Well I’ve got a year to go anyway, so it’s fine… I’m not too worried about that. The big bit for me is the word that you used there… European.

“It changed an awful lot of things at West Ham the minute we got European football. It altered a lot of the way we all looked, the club was, what it did for the West Ham supporters to be on a European tour.

“Winning group stages, whether it was the Europa League or the Conference. I can imagine we could possibly do it, what it’d do to the crowds here.”
Everton are certainly in a strong position to qualify for Europe, with Champions League not even out of the equation.
Remarkably, Moyes’ side are only three points behind Merseyside rivals Liverpool, with the derby coming up next month at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
So, the Toffees have the chance to finish above Liverpool for the first time since 2013, when Roberto Martinez’s men achieved a 72-point total.
