Paul Robinson wowed by unbelievable Nottingham Forest star vs Tottenham

Nottingham Forest claimed a huge victory against Tottenham Hotspur, winning 3-0 to go three points clear of West Ham in the race for survival.

Forest went ahead on the stroke of half-time when Igor Jesus headed home after a superb cross from Neco Williams.

In the second half, Spurs looked completely void of confidence, and the subs made no difference as Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi added further goals.

It was the first goal that had Paul Robinson waxing lyrical about one Forest star, and he felt he got something absolutely spot on.

Interestingly, Forest actually came good from a set piece for a chance and Williams’ delivery was superb, with Jesus having very little to do in order to break the deadlock.

Robinson was watching the game for BBC Radio 5 Live, and he had some kind words for Forest’s left-back, who was largely decent throughout.

Robinson said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “It’s such a simple set play. We see all these intricate set plays with movement in the box. Set plays are all about the delivery, and Neco Williams’ delivery was absolutely on point. A simple task for Igor Jesus, with a free header to put Nottingham Forest ahead.”

Williams was a standout performer for Forest during the win over Tottenham, and his efforts didn’t go unnoticed during the contest.

Forest have to build on this victory over a relegation rival, and players like Williams will be needed to step up once football resumes after the international break.
