Devastating relegation blow for Leeds United’s rivals – Spurs “fraud” given brutal dressing down

It was hard to see if Leeds United’s draw against Brentford would be a good one. It all hinged on what unfolded on Sunday with West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Spurs.

Daniel Farke was again facing criticism for his lack of courage in the face of another side sitting deep at Elland Road.

A point on the board will be viewed as a good one by the Leeds boss. However, it opened the door for relegation rivals to steal a march on Sunday afternoon.

West Ham and Spurs lose in damaging defeats as Nottingham Forest celebrate emphatic win

For West Ham, they faced a tough task away at Aston Villa. Although, Unai Emery’s Villans have been out of sorts lately and potentially vulnerable.

Thankfully, goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins ensured we actually gained ground on the Irons to see us four points clear.

Elsewhere, a mouthwatering clash between Spurs and Nottingham Forest could not have gone worse for the North London club. You’d have thought Spurs were in for a turnaround after their spirited Champions League performance, but they were brought back down to earth by Forest’s superb away display.

Three deliveries from wide areas were the undoing of Spurs as Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi made it a stunning 3-0 win.

All you could hear in the closing stages was the Forest away end. However, what was left of the Spurs fanbase in the ground at full-time mustered up a feeble and defeated chorus of boos. TalkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara wasn’t afraid to speak his mind on Igor Tudor.

Igor Tudor is the worse appointment in Spurs history, I told you he’s a fraud, Lange, Vinai, Tudor should all be sacked immediately

Was it a good point for Leeds United after Sunday’s results?

I really had no clue what to feel about last night’s point. I left the game thinking it was as uninspiring as we could have been against a turgid group of lumps that Brentford turned out to be.

However, it all hinged on what we saw from the three sides below us on Sunday.

Obviously, the ideal scenario unfolded at Villa Park with West Ham losing 2-0. However, I did wonder if a draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would’ve been ideal.

The main thing is Leeds entered this weekend three clear, we’re now four clear.

Not only that, but Spurs look absolutely beaten. Can they pick themselves up from such a grim day at home? I don’t see how they turn it around.
