Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on 5 Live at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
From Tottenham’s point of view, there was a lot of fighting spirit in the first half, encouraged by a jubiliant crowd who wanted to support their team. But when you go to support your team like that you have to give something back, which didn’t last.
For all their pressure and territory in the first-half, you felt that the longer this game went on, and they couldn’t convert, it was slipping away from them. In the second half they were tactically weak, they were devoid of ideas, and the manager changed the personel two or three times, and there was nothing there today to suggest that they can get out of that mess.
That result, and the false dawn against Liverpool papered over the cracks for me. It was the worst result they could have, because a point was no good and it kept him in a job. The performance against Atletico Madrid, put that to one side, because they didn’t come here to play, they didn’t come here to win that game.
Rewind 10 days when Tottenham, came back from Atletico, there was question marks about his job, which is where we are now.
