Tim Cahill opens up on 'unforgettable' first experience at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium

Tim Cahill was in attendance during Everton’s 3-0 win against Chelsea.

The former Everton star, who now works as a technical director for Qatar, visited the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time on Saturday evening.

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔

David Moyes.

Tim Cahill certainly picked a good game to watch and he’s now taken to his Instagram to describe his ‘unforgettable’ experience at the 52,000-seater.

Cahill explained that the atmosphere at the Hill Dickinson was ‘special’ and he also heaped praise on his former manager David Moyes.

“Still taking it all in… my first game at Everton’s new stadium and what a night it turned out to be,” the 46-year-old stated.

“From the moment I walked in, you could feel something special the noise, the energy, the passion in every corner.

“Our club isn’t just about football, it’s about people, history, and a deep connection that runs through every supporter.

“To see a 3–0 win over Chelsea in that atmosphere made it even more unforgettable. It was also incredible to see legends like Adrian Heath, Peter Reid, Patrick Nevin and Yakubu a real reminder of the standards, pride, and identity of Everton.

“And a huge mention to the boss David Moyes, along with Alan Irvine and the staff the hard work, commitment, and belief they’re putting into this team is clear to see. It’s something I truly admire.

“Grateful to have experienced it. Proud to be part of it. This is Everton.”

Moyes reckons the kick-off time helped Everton’s atmosphere feel more like Goodison Park again.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also praised supporters for their passion prior to the game, as they surrounded the bus with blue flares, which spurred the players on.

Hopefully, that’s the result which now kickstarts a better run of home form, as they’ve struggled for much of the season on their own patch.
