In-form Harvey Barnes has earned a shock call-up for England after snubbing Scotland's pitch to make him a World Cup star.
The 28-year-old has been in red-hot form for Newcastle and politely said no to Steve Clarke after discussions to bring him into the fold for the Scots.
Barnes - only capped once in a friendly against Ireland – is into the Three Lions' squad after Eberechi Eze's injury forced the Arsenal playmaker out of the Carabao Cup Final.
Now the winger will get the chance to impress Thomas Tuchel in the games against Uruguay and Japan.
Clarke was keen on Barnes, however, it's understood the former Leicester man believed he could force himself into contention with England and will now get his chance.
