Everton's James Garner shares how he really feels about his World Cup chances for England

James Garner has enjoyed a sensational season for Everton.

As such, England manager Thomas Tuchel has rewarded James Garner with his first call-up to the senior squad.

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? šŸ¤”

David Moyes.

Following the announcement, Garner produced a Man of the Match-worthy performance against Chelsea on the weekend, earning plaudits from the likes of Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer.

The 25-year-old will now join up with the Three Lions squad ahead of the friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

That said, Garner has now shared whether he thinks there’s a chance he could go to the World Cup this summer.

James Garner says World Cup is a ā€˜possibility’

Garner is part of England’s 35-man squad, so Tuchel will have to cut that down to 26 ahead of the World Cup in America.

That said, it’ll be a difficult task getting into the final squad, but the Everton midfielder remains hopeful when asked about his chances.

ā€œI don’t see why not,ā€ Garner told ESPN.

ā€œI think it’s a possibility but at the same time I’ve just got to keep on focusing on what I’m doing on the weekend. If I keep on playing like that then who knows.ā€

He added: ā€œI think anybody who gets called up for England has to be at the level otherwise they wouldn’t be called up, especially for a nation like this.

ā€œA lot of people think that England should be there or thereabouts in the World Cup, so to even get a call-up is such an amazing achievement and I’m just so proud to be there.

ā€œIt’ll be a little bit daunting, of course. It’s my first time but I’m just going to be myself, be positive and we’ll see what happens.ā€

Moyes is hopeful Garner will come back as an even better player from the England camp, as he feels being around top players will improve him.
