**Aaron Ramsdale - 3**

Kept trying to keep them out and probably did all he could. His distribution is an improvement but it can’t just always be a kick to nowhere. We aren’t there … wherever that is.

**Kieran Trippier - 3**

The fallout between him and Elanga is beyond embarrassing. It’s like watching people who know what their role is try and get the other sacked. Is a solution possible? Probably not at all!

**Sven Botman - 4**

Left the field with us one up so bonus for that, aligned with being able to defend ok against Brobbey. Well, when he wasn’t smashing us to bits. So, maybe just ok?

**Dan Burn - 2**

Come for me in the comments. Gets picked every week for set plays, but we are rubbish at defending them or at attacking them so … we just aren’t very good are we. Got bullied by Brobbey, couldn’t go with a runner, and was barely able to be anywhere close to the ball for either goal we conceded. Can pass back to the goalkeeper though, so that’s a plus.

**Lewis Hall - 5**

Desperate to try and get us up the park, didn’t work well with Barnes for much of the game (more on that later), but the space he had should’ve been exploited more. The disappearance of Gordon also left him exposed down that side.

**Joelinton - 5**

The one player you’d presume would be bang up for it and lead by example fell disappointingly short. Should’ve been an 8 and pushing on Xhaka. Instead was left trying to work out why all these runners were going past him.

**Jacob Ramsey - 4**

Not at the races today, but seemed to be left playing back towards his own goal a lot. Would be nice to see him back in the six like at Chelsea … just a thought.

**Nick Woltemade - 3**

I’m still utterly convinced that we are destroying this lad’s confidence. He’s not an eight, shouldn’t be playing in midfield, and it makes us look silly when we do it. Hooked as if it was his fault they equalised rather than actually being because the team setup had failed.

**Anthony Elanga - 2**

One header over the bar early. A shot wide of the post. Other than that just seemed to find different ways to not get the ball off Trippier. Completely disappeared second half.

**Harvey Barnes - 2**

The least effective game he has had in a black and white shirt. The full back wouldn’t have known he was there after ten minutes. He won’t make sixty yard dashes to score every have, but what he can do is organise himself and the others to succeed. Felt like he just didn’t turn up.

**Anthony Gordon - 6**

Our best player but it’s a low bar. Mad to sub him, can’t explain that at all. Also weird that the manager seemed to be making a point by getting Wissa on, a player who he’d shown no desire to use at all for about six weeks now.

**Subs**

**Thiaw for Botman - 4**

Unlucky with the disallowed goal. Otherwise we could be celebrating but other than that was part of an ineffective defensive display.

**Livramento for Trippier - 3**

His head is already at City … let him go. Like he lets his man go all too often.

**Murphy for Elanga - 3**

Brighter and more direct, actually got into the game. Too much needle with the keeper though.

**Willock for Woltemade - 3**

Silly passes, loose in possession and ran the ball out of play Elanga style whilst breaking. Not his day.

**Osula for Barnes - 3**

Captain chaos came on and caused zero fuss.

**Wissa for Gordon - n/a**

The manager doesn’t rate him so I’m not giving him one.

**Stephen Ord @smord84**
