Aston Villa have confirmed that preparatory work related to the redevelopment of the North Stand at Villa Park has now begun.

To deliver the new North Stand on schedule, the club will remove existing structures located in the north-east and north-west corners of the stadium.

This marks the first phase of the project and will be completed ahead of the home fixture against Bologna on April 16, in just over two weeks’ time.

Existing concourse and turnstile facilities serving supporters in the lower tier of the North Stand will be removed for the remainder of the season.

Instead, Villa will install temporary food and beverage outlets, toilet facilities, and a temporary turnstile for fans using this area of the stadium. However, supporters with access to the Cells GA+ facility will not be affected by these changes.

Regarding disruption to fans, the club acknowledged: “We recognise that these temporary arrangements may cause some inconvenience to supporters during the final weeks of the season.

“However, these early works are a necessary step in keeping the North Stand redevelopment programme on track and ensuring we deliver the significantly enhanced matchday experience that has already been shared with our fans.

“We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of our supporters as we take these important steps toward the future of Villa Park.

“Further information and supporter guidance for affected fixtures will be communicated ahead of upcoming matches.”
