“I don’t like it” – Manchester United player’s agent unimpressed by development

**After a slow start to life in England, Benjamin Šeško has had a great few weeks at Manchester United.** The striker has earned the tag of being a bit of a super-sub, coming off the bench to score key goals under Michael Carrick.

This has led to the manager utilising Šeško in a very specific way, relying on his ability to break open games.

As a result, the Slovenian has scored seven times in the Premier League in 2026. Nearly all of those goals have had a direct impact on the result.

Despite these positives, the striker’s agent has expressed a bit of dissatisfaction with that super-sub label. Multiple pundits have been placing it on the Manchester United forward, and the agent isn’t impressed.

Šeško’s agent demands more

--------------------------

The 22-year-old’s agent Elvis Bašanović spoke to Arena Sport about his client’s adventure at Manchester United so far. He made it clear that the player deserves to be known as more than just a super-sub under Carrick.

He said – relayed by [Ekipa](https://ekipa.svet24.si/clanek/nogomet/slovenci-v-tujini/69bead619ac46/elvis-basanovic-benjamin-sesko-manchester-united): _“If you ask me about this name \[Super-sub\], I don’t like it. I like ‘super striker’ much more. I think Benjamin is a super striker. He has started 13 games this year, coming off the bench in 13 games._”

The agent used the player’s numbers in 2026 to nudge towards the idea of him playing more.

_“He scored half of his goals when he started the game and half when he came off the bench. We can see that he is a complete striker and Benjamin is someone who deserves the name ‘super striker’.”_

Agent’s words should push Manchester United player

--------------------------------------------------

Carrick could indeed use the Slovenia international more, although fitness may have played a role recently. In addition, as an interim, he is in the job to make the most out of the resources at hand. Part of his role is also to use the players to their strengths.

The current usage seems to be bringing most out of Šeško. It is also keeping him away from the pressure that comes with a massive price-tag and starting every game for Manchester United.

This is the foundation for him to take the next step in the 2026/27 campaign. The Red Devils have no plans to sign a new striker, which shows that the spot is Šeško’s for for the foreseeable future.

Just don’t call him a super-sub in front of his agent.
