Leeds United had a great run of form to end last year, and even began this calendar year on positive note. Within the space of months, Daniel Farke managed to turn the team’s fortunes around.

In early January, many people around the league began to have faith that the Whites will be able to survive this season. But in the past few weeks, Farke’s men seem to have completely dropped the ball. Back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Sunderland dealt them a huge blow that they have not been able to recover from.

However, they have managed two points in their last two games against difficult opponents in Crystal Palace and Brentford. Fans will still feel they could have gotten a victory in these games considering they were the better side in both situations.

After just two points from a possible 12, things are not looking great for Leeds United. They go into the international break still in 15th place, but there is no guarantee they survive the last eight games of the campaign. Former Premier League star Ray Parlour, on the other hand, thinks the Whites can survive and stay in the top flight beyond this season.

“I think Leeds with their run-in, I think they should be alright, they’ve got that little cushion, and I think they will get a couple of more wins.” the former Arsenal man said on talkSPORT.

Leeds United need to find a way to start converting draws into wins if they want to stand a chance at securing another season. But looking at their other relegation rivals, one can see that the Whites have a clear advantage. Spurs have still not improved under new manager Igor Tudor, and will continue to slip. West Ham are losing key players with each passing week, and Nottingham Forest will definitely be distracted by their run in the Conference League. Leeds have a clear focus ahead of them, and most importantly, are now close to full health with the return of some key players.
