Dan Ndoye matches Anthony Elanga as surprise stat emerges from Nottingham Forest win

Dan Ndoye might have only played 10 minutes for Nottingham Forest but he managed to match a feat achieved by Anthony Elanga in game week 31.

Elanga played for Newcastle against Sunderland as they lost to their fierce rivals for the second time this season on Sunday, with Ndoye starting on the bench as Forest won at Tottenham.

Ndoye was the man signed in the wake of Elanga making a £60 million move to Newcastle in the summer, and it’s fair to say the Swiss international hasn’t really replaced him adequately so far.

In recent weeks, since recovering from his latest injury, however, Ndoye has looked much sharper and he’s another player who could have a part to play under Vitor Pereira.

Dan Ndoye’s statistics highlight brilliance vs Tottenham

The winger came on with 10 minutes of the contest remaining, and he made a seriously good impression, doing something to match Elanga in a short space of time.

Elanga was fouled three times during his time on the pitch as Newcastle lost to Sunderland, and that proved to be the same number of times that Ndoye was fouled in 10 minutes.

The Swiss performer will be hoping to go to the World Cup in the summer, and he was a constant menace to Tottenham with his pace, causing all sorts of problems when Pereira introduced him.

Ndoye was fouled as many times as Elanga, Omari Hutchinson, Sven Botman and Marcus Tavernier during GW 31 and clearly that showcases that he can be a real nuisance for opposition defenders.

With Forest still in the Europa League, the Reds will need all the help they can get when it comes to keeping the squad fresh and ready for the remaining fixtures.

Ndoye has started ample games this season and based on yesterday’s showing, he’s one fringe player who is definitely ready to be starting games should Pereira deem it a necessity.
