Tottenham fans were doing a lot of clutching at straws after their 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest, with Neco Williams in the firing line.
Forest scored on the stroke of half-time, and shortly after, Tottenham felt they might have been given a penalty when Cristian Romero was felled in the box.
VAR had a look at the incident, but it was Forest who led at the interval, and the Reds ultimately won the game billed by the hosts as a cup final 3-0.

Dermot Gallagher doesn’t think Neco Williams fouled Cristian Romero
Romero went down holding his head following this collision, which was somewhat strange considering Williams was nowhere near his head.
After a pretty long VAR check, Tony Harrington decided to back Michael Oliver for his on-field decision, and now Gallagher and Bothroyd have agreed on the decision from the match officials.
Gallagher said: “I just think it’s one of those where he genuinely goes to try and play the ball. I didn’t think there was a lot in it, and I certainly don’t think it’s a penalty.

Bothroyd agreed and added: “I don’t think this is a penalty either, Neco Williams jumps early, and Romero doesn’t jump at all. It’s a collision, and you can’t give penalties for that.
Even if the decisions did potentially go in the favour of Forest on Sunday, it’s long overdue from a Reds perspective.
Last weekend, Dan Ndoye was deemed to have been offside against Fulham when replays showed that his heel was just millimetres beyond the defender.
There have also been other incidents this season that have hampered Forest, but in truth, this collision between Romero and Williams was never going to lead to a penalty.
Forest can look back on a wonderful afternoon and Tottenham will now have three weeks to fester on the back of this shocking result, which leaves them on the brink of the relegation zone.
