It has been reported that Azeez will be playing Premier League football regardless of whether the Lions go up.
Azeez was released by Watford as a 14-year-old, so he’s had to come through non-league to get back into the professional ranks, which is a testament to his mentality and character.
“It’s been a journey for sure!” the Millwall winger told Sky Sports earlier this month.
“As a 14-year-old hearing that you’re going to get released is obviously heartbreaking and I was upset for quite a while, I’ll be honest.
“I’ve seen both sides of the game, so I think that as a young player going through that definitely hardens your mind and hardens your mental state.
“As a 16 or 17-year-old you’re playing against grown men who have kids and who have something to fight for. It’s definitely an experience.
“I still take that into my games now, knowing that football can change so quickly and anything can happen in one moment and I could be back in the same position.”
