Beto reveals what Everton fans have been messaging him all season

Beto grabbed all the headlines for Everton at the weekend.

Beto scored a brace against Chelsea, helping Everton to a memorable 3-0 victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The towering centre-forward actually became the first Toffees player to score more than one goal in a single game at the new ground.

Should Everton actually be getting Beto tied down to a new contract? 🤔

He'll only have a year left this summer…

After the game, Beto hinted that he wants to stay at Everton amid rumours he was put up for sale in January and could leave in the summer.

He also spoke about what Toffees supporters have been messaging him all season, which has kept him going through difficult patches.

Everton fans have been messaging Beto with words of support

Speaking to Everton’s website, Beto revealed that fans have been sending him words of encouragement through the bad times this season.

“The season (wasn’t) going so well and (the fans) keep saying to me: ‘Keep going, Beto! Keep working!’ Today, I was rewarded with two goals, one assist and a good performance.

“You could see the energy (from the fans) and I’m just blessed to be here.”

Beto added: “For me, it’s special (to play for the Club). It’s a God gift. I asked for little things and He gave me this, He gave me this opportunity to be here and be the number nine at the Club.”

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔

David Moyes.

David Moyes admitted he’s so happy for Beto, as he loves his attitude in training.

“He’s last off the training ground just about every day, he wants more, he wants people to try and improve him.

“I think when you’ve got players like that, you’ve always got a little bit of a chance. Sometimes, when you work that hard you get a bit of luck, things go for you. He’s making his own luck and making his good fortune, because he’s working so hard for it.”

Beto was linked with a move to Fenerbahce in January, but the Turkish giants were put off by his £17m price tag.

It’ll be interesting to see what Moyes and his recruitment chiefs do with the 28-year-old this summer.
