Opinion: Three Everton players who may be buzzing there's an international break, including…

Everton are flying high right now and the likelihood is that most of the players would prefer to carry on with club football – but some may actually be quite welcoming of the current international break.

David Moyes’ side have just beaten Chelsea 3-0, giving one of their best performances of the season.

But now club football will pause for the international break.

Moyes actually admitted his disappointment about the break, and arguably, it does come at an annoying time, with the Toffees full of confidence after that win on Saturday night.

However, there are some players who may actually take this break.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Jarrad Branthwaite only made a cameo appearance against Chelsea, after picking up an injury before the Arsenal game.

Branthwaite did not play at all against the Gunners, missing out on the squad entirely.

The defender did not accompany his teammates for the recent warm weather training camp in the Algarve, staying back at Finch Farm for individual rehab.

The narrative is that Branthwaite still isn’t completely fully fit, and is slightly fragile.

Therefore, he is likely to be pleased there’s an international break to just allow him a bit more recovery time ahead of Everton’s next game – which is against Liverpool, no less.

Tyler Dibling

As one of the most underused players in the Everton squad, Tyler Dibling will surely be looking forward to this international break.

It hasn’t happened for him yet at Everton, with Moyes seemingly wanting more from the youngster or not trusting him. Or it could well be a combination of both.

But one man who could give him a chance to express himself is Lee Carsley, who called Dibling into his England U21 squad, along with Tyrique George.

The Young Lions have UEFA U21 Euro qualifiers against Andorra and Moldova, Everton youngster Dibling will be champing at the bit for some decent involvement.

He could still have a part to play for Everton in the run-in, and it would be great if he came back to Finch Farm having made a good impression.

James Garner

James Garner will also be buzzing for the international break, although not for the same reasons as the other two.

Of course, Garner received fantastic news last week as Thomas Tuchel called him up to the England squad for the first time.

It is no less than he deserves, with Garner having been amazingly consistent this season.

He must be extremely excited to make his debut, with games against Uruguay and Japan offering good opportunities for him to stake a claim to be in the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.

Dewsbury-Hall deserves to be in the England squad with Garner, do you agree? 🤔

He is easily good enough. Garner has undoubtedly been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season.

It’s just a question of whether he can deliver a strong enough showing this late in the day.

If he ultimately misses out, it won’t be through ability. It’ll likely be down to having not been in the picture long enough.
