Bournemouth saw their hopes of promotion dented in their defeat to Argyle, but they have had a stellar first season in the third tier, and it would be back-to-back promotions should they reach WSL2.
This season has also brought their first National League Cup final appearance, where they will face Plymouth again on Saturday, and a record-breaking FA Cup run, before they were knocked out by WSL Manchester City.

Asked about how much draws against Exeter City and Hashtag since the turn of the year, as well as the defeat to Oxford United had cost them in their promotion hunt, Bleazard pointed to the bigger picture of how much the team had progressed.
“I think what everyone forgets is how far we've come this year,” she told the Daily Echo.
“I just said it then, if anyone had told you that you'd be in the position that we are as a club right now, and be in a League Cup final and get to the furthest round in the FA Cup that you've got to this season as a first-year promoted tier three club, you'd bite your arm off.

“But I think that just shows the character and the quality of the group, is we're in a position where people are talking about those moments.
“We're playing against teams that have been in this league for a number of years. And yes, we have fantastic quality and we talk about those details and those moments.
“And like I said, I can't fault the players. Their work rate was impeccable today.
“You could see Plymouth were really, really tiring. And going back to the other games, it's about those moments. But we've had games where moments have gone our way. So it's the magic of football.”
