Four West Ham United Women players currently out on loan were involved for their respective clubs over the weekend, delivering a mix of results across the leagues.

Defender Jessie Stapleton impressed as Nottingham Forest secured a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town in Barclays Women’s Super League 2 on Sunday. The Republic of Ireland international completed the full 90 minutes at the City Ground, helping her side to a clean sheet.

Stapleton was also involved in the build-up to the opening goal, playing the ball wide to Cerys Brown, whose cross was converted by Joy Omewa in the 28th minute.

Forest doubled their advantage shortly after the interval, with Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah taking advantage of a defensive error to calmly finish past goalkeeper Natalia Negri.

In the same division, Keira Flannery featured for league leaders Charlton Athletic, who were beaten 2-1 away by Bristol City. Flannery played 68 minutes at Ashton Gate, while Camila Sáez remained an unused substitute for the hosts. The result moves Bristol City to within five points of the promotion places.

Sophie Ingle gave Bristol City the lead with a header in the first half, before Lexi Lloyd-Smith extended their advantage just after the hour mark. Charlton responded through Gillian Kenney with 20 minutes remaining, but were unable to find an equaliser.

Despite the defeat, Charlton maintain a six-point lead over second-placed Birmingham City and remain nine points clear of Crystal Palace in third, albeit having played one game more.

Elsewhere, Ruby Warwick started for Barking as they recorded a dominant 5-0 win against Ebbsfleet United in the London and South East Regional Women’s Premier Division. Emilia Parsons scored a hat-trick, while Lexxie Blythe and Holly Theobald also contributed goals.

Soraya Walsh also featured from the start for Hashtag United, who suffered a 6-1 home defeat to league leaders Watford in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
