With a few months of the season left to go, Leeds United look to be making key plans for their future. Since January, it has been clear that the 49ers are preparing for multiple scenarios at the end of this season.

It has emerged over the last couple of days that the club plans to beef up the attacking heading into next season. Leeds United are planning to bring in a new striker after seeing how Dominic Calvert-Lewin has struggled for form since the start of the year. Lukas Nmecha has been a good backup, but it has been clear that the team needs a higher quality option who can contribute consistently over the season.

Leeds United eye summer transfer target

Daniel Farke asked for Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach this summer; two players who are perfect for English football. The duo have had a huge impact on the team’s success this season. And per Portuguese outlet A Bola, the club have plans to sign Sporting CP star Hidemasa Morita. The midfielder was a target for the Whites last summer, but Leeds avoided the deal due to the asking price.

Morita is a free agent in the coming months, and does not plan to renew his contract. The 31-year old continues to be a key cog in the middle of the park for the Champions League club, and would definitely add some quality to the club’s current options.

Ao Tanaka could play key role

Leeds United would be a very appealing option to the Japanese international this summer, with his countryman Ao Tanaka currently at the club. What could make a potential move interesting is that Morita and Tanaka share the same agency, CAA base. Which means a potential move in the summer could be easily facilitated.

Hidemasa Morita is a quality option in the middle of the park; he provides quite a different quality to what the current crop of players have. Morita is more of a player who controls and dictates the tempo of the game. He would be a useful addition to this Leeds side, and would increase the quality of a team that hopes to establish themselves in the top flight.
