Fulham are expected to seal a full-time swoop for the attacker ahead of next season

Fulham are set to sign Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent basis from AC Milan this summer with a deal ‘close’, according to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato. The winger has spent this season on loan with the Premier League side. He has made a largely positive impression at Craven Cottage.

Marco Silva’s side are sat in 9th place in the table. They saw off Burnley 3-1 at home last time out. Josh King, Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez got their goals against the Clarets.

Fulham poised to sign Samuel Chukwueze on permanent basis

Fulham landed Chukwueze on a temporary basis last year. He was brought in by the London outfit to bolster their attacking department. The Nigeria international, who has 56 caps to his name, has since given them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch.

The 26-year-old made his name in Spain at Villarreal and broke into their first-team as a youngster. He went on to make 207 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions and scored 37 goals. AC Milan then came calling for his signature in 2023 and he has since found the net on eight occasions in 69 outings for the Serie A giants.

They then gave him the green light to link up with Fulham and he has since been in and out of the Whites’ starting XI. He has fired three league goals in 19 games. Nevertheless, Silva appears keen on securing his signature full-time ahead of the next campaign.

After signing for the Cottagers, Chukwueze said at the time: “I’m so happy to be here. It’s an amazing club. It feels like home, because I have my people around me. I feel at home already, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Tony Khan added: "I’m thrilled to welcome Samuel Chukwueze to Fulham! He is an explosive athlete and tremendous talent, who has gained valuable playing experience in Europe with Milan and in international competition for Nigeria. He is joining us on a season-long loan with a permanent option, and we are very excited to have him at the Club! Come on Fulham!"
