In what can only be described as appalling timing, the circus surrounding West Ham’s relegation rivals Tottenham shows no sign of slowing down.
On a week when under-fire Spurs boss Igor Tudor lost his father shortly before their defeat to Nottingham Forest, Fabrizio Romano has now named a potential successor.
Let’s be clear, Tudor always felt like a temporary sticking-plaster solution to Tottenham’s problems. However, it does seem somewhat insensitive and poorly timed to be openly discussing who might replace him under such circumstances.

Presumably, any such decision will depend heavily on which division Spurs find themselves in next season. Much like West Ham, it is almost impossible to plan a squad or managerial direction without knowing whether [Premier League](https://www.claretandhugh.info/premier-league-bio/) or Championship football lies ahead.
As for former Brighton boss De Zerbi, would he really drop down a division to take over in North London? It feels unlikely.
The next few weeks could prove decisive in shaping both the immediate and medium-term future at Tottenham. And while nothing is certain, it’s far from guaranteed that Tudor will even see out the season.
