“If Leeds decides..” – £10m transfer decision close with Daniel Farke’s ‘eyes opened’ this month

Leeds United decided to loan out Largie Ramazani during the summer after falling out of Daniel Farke’s plans. He’s since had a strong second half of the 25/26 campaign at Valencia.

I don’t want to pile any criticism on Daniel Farke when we’re still in a strong position to stay in the Premier League this season. However, one obvious criticism is how certain talented players have noticeably regressed in value under his watch.

Willy Gnonto is the prime example, overlooked when we needed a goal against Brentford. Away from the club, Largie Ramazani continues to prove his worth at Valencia.

Largie Ramazani scores fourth goal in six Valencia games under Carlos Corberan

After an assist mere minutes into his debut at Valencia, Ramazani had struggled with injuries under Carlos Corberan. It left the Belgian heading into the January window potentially looking at his loan being terminated with the La Liga club.

Since mid-February, though, Ramazani’s form has blossomed with five goals in his last eight appearances, three of them from the penalty spot.

His latest came in a 2-0 win away to Sevilla on Saturday. Ramazani was at the forefront of everything for Valencia away from home, denied from a tight angle before a stinging shot in th 38th minute was parried ino the path of teammate Hugo Duro to open the scoring.

Then, on the stroke of half-time, Ramazani slid in Valencia’s second. It was a carbon copy of his penultimate goal of last season against Bristol City, wide open at the back post for a low cross.

That win puts Valencia 12th in the table. Although, Corberan’s side are only three points off seventh, and six adrift of sixth-placed Celta Vigo.

Marca: Daniel Farke’s “eyes opened” by £10m Largie Ramazani form away from Leeds United

Since the weekend, Marca have dropped a report mapping out Ramazani’s current transfer situation ahead of the summer.

Back in the summer of 2025, it looked as though Ramazani was drifting away from Elland Road for good. But, the club importantly didn’t include a buy option so that we hold all the cards heading into this transfer window.

The report notes how Farke and the coaching staff at Leeds will be taking note of Ramazani’s form in La Liga.

“The attacker has a contract in England until 2028 and his performance at the club has opened the eyes to the Leeds coaches who had left him in the gutter,” Marca state.

Signed for £10million in the summer of 2024, Leeds could have a viable squad option for next season in the Belgian.

Regarding Valencia’s position, they do not expect to be able to afford his permanent transfer in the summer window.

“His goals and assists have put him in the window and if Leeds decides to sell him there will be better offers than Ron Gourlay [Valencia CEO] can put on the table,” the report finishes.

Leeds United need to find a way to reintegrate Largie Ramazani this summer

I still can’t understand why Ramazani wasn’t viewed as a decent option for us this season. You look at the lack of impact Jack Harrison has had since coming back from Everton. It leaves you wondering why we didn’t try to keep Ramazani.

Obviously, that’s down to Farke and his peculiar disliking for what Ramazani offers. However, he’s showing at Valencia that he’s more than good enough, relative to our other options.

You can’t tell me that Ramazani in his current form wouldn’t have been a good option off the bench against Brentford. He’s the sort of spark a stagnant attack needs in this situation.
