Jadon Sancho could now finally get transfer he asked for when he played for Chelsea

Jadon Sancho is in desperate need to resurrect his playing career, and could be set to secure a move he was looking for when he was still a Chelsea player.

After Sancho decided not to take a pay cut to remain a Blue for this season and beyond, he is currently a regular on the bench for Aston Villa.

He has started just eight Premier League games this season, and is yet to find the net in the league for Unai Emery’s side.

Jadon Sancho wanted by Borussia Dortmund

There will have been many expecting the winger to push for a move to Borussia Dortmund, the club where he has seen the most success in his career so far.

At the end of this season, it looks as if this could become a genuine possibility again. Fabrizio Romano has stated that there is genuine interest from the Bundesliga side in bringing him in as a free agent this summer.

He said: “Borussia Dortmund have genuine interest in re-signing Jadon Sancho. He’s leaving Manchester United as free agent as decided months ago and will assess all proposals.”

Sancho got a warm reception from former Chelsea players when the two sides met earlier this month, with them sharing some strong memories together at Stamford Bridge.

The winger’s parting gift to the Blues was a goal in the Conference League final against Real Betis, celebrated by the entire squad in the corner.

Sancho has wanted Dortmund move since he was at Chelsea

Even when Sancho was a Chelsea player, reports were rife that a return to Germany was on the cards for him.

Sancho reportedly asked his agent in March 2025 to secure him a move to Dortmund, even though there was still a chance Chelsea could have signed him permanently.

The Blues will have certainly been hoping for more of an impact from the replacements they signed after they decided not to bring Sancho in permanently.

Both Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho have flattered to deceive since joining, leaving supporters keen for more investment on the left of attack.
