Steele gets down to work for first time with England

The Albion goalkeeper could be seen working with the main group in wet and blustery conditions at St George’s Park.

He did stretches alongside fellow goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

James Trafford and Jordan Pickford are also with the group in the run-up to Friday’s game against Uruguay.

Steele arrived at St George’s Park in the afternoon and got straight down to business.

It is widely thought he could go to the World Cup as a training goalkeeper if he impresses in that role in the current camp.

Former Albion defender Ben White was also involved in his much-discussed return to the England set-up.

White’s call-up raised eyebrows given he was selected ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold and has not featured since the 2022 World Cup.

The Arsenal defender left Qatar for personal reasons and then made himself unavailable for selection for the remainder of Sir Gareth Southgate’s reign.

Meanwhile, Albion duo Jack Hinshelwood and Tommy Watson were pictured with the under-21s, also at St George’s Park.

England visit Andorra on Friday and host Moldova at Carrow Road on Tuesday, both in the Euros qualifying campaign.
