Craig Bellamy said Everton's newest transfer target is such a 'huge threat'

Everton are showing an interest in Stoke City winger Sorba Thomas.

It’s understood that Everton aren’t planning to sign Tyrique George on a permanent deal in the summer, so it seems Thomas is being eyed as a potential replacement for the Toffees.

Thomas has been one of the best players in the Championship this season, registering 21 goal involvements for the Potters.

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔

David Moyes.

Craig Bellamy works with the 27-year-old with Wales, and he is a huge admirer of the Everton target, explaining that he’s got a terrific attitude.

Craig Bellamy absolutely loves Everton target Sorba Thomas

Speaking to the media last year, Wales boss Craig Bellamy waxed lyrical about Thomas.

The 46-year-old described what kind of character and player he is.

“His mentality towards training is like… we call it coachability,” Bellamy stated.

“You only have to tell him once… he’s there. Like I just see a really hungry, determined footballer and he shows it on the pitch.

“When we talk about the intensity and reaching the markers we want, he’s able to do that, he’s able to hit that.

“Maybe the way we play suits him, I see him as a winger, I don’t see him as a forward, I don’t see him as a wing-back, I see him as an out-and-out winger.

“My messaging towards wingers one-on-one is don’t come back, go at them and even to me, when he’s one vs one, he goes at you.

“If you are a full-back, he’s difficult to play against. Ball on the other side, make sure you’re on the back post, work back for the team… all these parts he does naturally.

“I believe he is a winger, let him be a winger. With all the intensity he’s able to bring to the game, he’s a huge threat and a huge benefit to the team.”

Bellamy has just described the perfect Moyes winger. The Scotsman loves his attackers to work hard and defend with intensity, which may be why Tyler Dibling hasn’t had much of a look-in.

Thomas is also coming into the peak years of his career, and the Toffees boss very much values experience.

It wouldn’t at all be surprising if Everton launched a bid for the Stoke talisman this summer.
