The 23-year-old, who was replaced by Lesley Ugochukwu, fell awkwardly after contesting a robust 50/50 with a Fulham man.
Hannibal appeared distraught as he limped off the pitch, understandably concerned with a World Cup appearance only three months away.
He was due to link up with Tunisia this week for their friendly double header, but Burnley boss Scott Parker admitted that was now unlikely to happen.
“It seems like he's tweaked his hamstring, which again wasn't ideal really to make that early change,” Parker explained after Saturday’s defeat at Craven Cottage.
“But he started the game so well, Hannibal. However long he was on, 10 or 15 minutes, I thought he was so bright, so it was disappointing.

“Hopefully it's not too bad, but at this present moment in time it looks like a bit of a hamstring injury.”
When asked if he expects Hannibal to travel for Tunisia’s games against Haiti and Canada, Parker added: “I wouldn't have thought so.
“We'll assess it now, or the medical staff are assessing it now, so we'll see where that is.”
Since then, Hannibal has taken to social media to address the setback.
“Frustrating to pick up an injury at such a key moment in the season,” he wrote on Instagram.
"I'll work as hard as I can off the pitch to get back as quickly as possible and will be supporting the teams every day.”
