Jordan Pickford has come in for a lot of plaudits recently, and some emerging data about the Everton goalkeeper really hammers home just how good he’s been.
Jordan Pickford has long been a brilliant and consistent performer for Everton.
The club flirted with relegation several times in recent years, and without the 32-year-old being as good as he has been, Everton would have been in a world of trouble.
Should Jordan Pickford now be considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers? 🤔
Gary Lineker is adamant he should 👀

Evertonians have always acknowledged his contributions.
But it feels like he is actually now starting to get the attention his performances really deserve.
His efforts have reached beyond the Everton sphere, with fans lapping up clips of the many excellent saves he’s made in recent weeks especially.
Gary Lineker recently suggested Pickford is one of the world’s best goalkeepers, which was a huge compliment.

And following that, there is a genuine argument for Pickford now being at least the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.
Jordan Pickford has gone to a new level under David Moyes
Squawka have crunched some numbers on Pickford, amid his inspired form.
Of course recently he’s been going viral for various saves he’s made, such as the incredible one against Newcastle United from Sandro Tonali.
And against Chelsea, he somehow thwarted Enzo Fernandez from close range. Wayne Rooney called that save from Pickford ‘incredible’.
But he’s been brilliant for so long now, and especially excellent since David Moyes returned to the club.

Squawka say that Pickford is actually first out of all goalkeepers in total (652) and on-target (211) shots faced in the Premier League since Moyes’ appointment.
And remarkably, he leads the league in goals prevented (+10.2), and saves (147) in this span.
And in terms of just this season, Pickford leads the way for goals prevented (6.0), placing him ahead of Deann Henderson and Senne Lammens (both 5.2).
The two goalkeepers who have long been perceived by most to be the best in the league – David Raya and Alisson – are not even in the top 10.
Goals prevented in the Premier League 2025/26
Jordan Pickford – +6
Dean Henderson – +5.2
Senne Lammens – +5.2
Bart Verbruggen – +4.8
Emi Martinez – +2.9
Gianluigi Donnarumma – +2.6
Robert Sanchez – +2.1
Robin Roefs – +1.9
Matz Sels – +1.6
Martin Dubravka – +1.3
*Goals prevented = xGOT faced – Goals conceded
Gianluigi Donnarumma – another popular shout for best goalkeeper in the league – is in sixth with 2.9.
The numbers just underline what a top campaign this has been from Pickford, whose efforts between the sticks have so far gone a very long way in Everton’s European football pursuit.
If Everton can just bump up their rate of scoring while Pickford is starring, then this will give the Toffees a serious chance of playing in a European competition next season.
