West Ham set to ‘revive interest’ in “real striker” with 15 G/A this season

West Ham United have struggled for goals throughout much of this season, and it remains one of the biggest issues holding them back.

Despite Crysencio Summerville’s strong form since the turn of the year, the Hammers have managed just 36 Premier League goals so far.

No player has reached double figures, with Jarrod Bowen leading the way on eight. Meanwhile, January arrivals have failed to make a major impact in front of goal, with Taty Castellanos scoring just twice and Pablo Felipe yet to find the net.

With attacking output clearly a concern, it now appears West Ham are preparing to re-enter the transfer market in search of a reliable goalscorer this summer.

West Ham to Revive Interest in Pepi

West Ham could reignite their pursuit of PSV striker Ricardo Pepi following uncertainty surrounding his proposed move to Fulham.

The American forward had been close to joining Marco Silva’s side in a deal worth around £31 million, but doubts over his medical have now put that transfer on hold, according to The Athletic‘s Gregg O’Keeffe.

That development has reopened the door for other clubs, and West Ham — who were previously linked with Pepi during the winter window — are now back in the picture.

With Fulham’s hesitation creating an opportunity, the Hammers could look to make their move in the coming months.

Pepi Could Solve West Ham’s Goal Problem

Bringing in a clinical striker has become a priority for West Ham, and Pepi’s record suggests he could be the solution.

Described as a “real striker” by PSV boss Peter Bosz, the 23-year-old has registered 15 goal contributions this season, scoring 13 times and adding two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

His consistency in front of goal has been evident over the past few years. Pepi netted 17 goals last season and nine the year before, helping PSV secure back-to-back Eredivisie titles. On the international stage, he has also impressed, scoring 13 goals in 34 appearances for the United States.

West Ham’s need for a proven goalscorer is clear, and Pepi fits the profile of a player who could make an immediate impact.

With his move to Fulham now uncertain, the Hammers may have been handed a second chance to secure his signature. If they decide to act, Pepi could be the kind of forward needed to transform their attacking fortunes and provide the cutting edge they have lacked this season.
